Supporting the Foundations of Traditional Industriesand Connecting to the Future
Since its establishment in 1931 as a manufacturer of white fabrics in Muromachi, Kyoto, we have been weaving them into supreme white fabrics with the utmost skill and sensitivity.
We are proud of the quality of our cocoons, raw silk, and weaving, and all of our employees continue to work with single-minded devotion to produce silk fabrics in response to the sensitivities of the times. White fabrics are brought to life through the handiwork of traditional craftsmen and artisans, such as dyeing, embroidery, and foiling, to create kimonos and beautiful kimonos. ITOKO has been, and will continue to be, committed to the production of white fabric, which is the starting point of kimono, to meet everyone’s expectations.
Weaving the pictorial spirit
of Japanese painting
Our company name「ITOKO」is named after our founder, Kojiro Ito, who was also a Japanese-style painter. Even today, the patterns woven into ITOKO’s white fabrics are drawn by our in-house designers who are skilled in Japanese painting, and ITOKO’s sensibility lives on in the patterns of kimono fabric.Of course, we also accept requests for the production of customer’s original custom orders.
